THE FORTY-SEVENTH MEETING OF THE PABSEC CULTURAL,EDUCATIONAL AND SOCIAL AFFAIRS COMMITTEE,BUCHAREST, 28.10.2016, İstanbul

The Forty-Seventh Meeting of the PABSEC Cultural, Educational and Social Affairs Committee was held in Bucharest on 25 October 2016, upon the invitation of the Chamber of Deputies of the Parliament of Romania. H.E. Mr. Florin Iordache, the Speaker of the Chamber of Deputies of the Parliament of Romania, Mr. Ioan Vulpescu, the Chairman of the Committee, Prof. Dr. Vlad Nistor, the Head of the PABSEC Romanian Delegation and Mr. Asaf Hajiyev, the PABSEC Secretary General addressed the participants at the Opening Ceremony.

The Meeting was chaired by Mr. Ioan Vulpescu, the Chairman of the Committee (Romania). Mrs. Olympia Teligioridou, Member of the PABSEC Hellenic Delegation, presented the draft Report on “Education and Science for Sustainable Development in the BSEC Member States”. The draft Recommendation 154/2016 on the same subject was presented by Mr. Ioan Vulpescu, the Chairman of the Committee.

The Committee discussed and approved the draft Report and the draft Recommendation on “Education and Science for Sustainable Development in the BSEC Member States” that will be submitted to the consideration of the Forty-Eighth Plenary Session to be held in Belgrade on 29 November - 1 December 2016.

The Committee took note of the information presented by the BSEC PERMIS Representative on the activities of the BSEC.

The Meeting was attended by the national delegations of Albania, Armenia, Bulgaria, Greece, Moldova, Romania, Russia, Turkey and Ukraine.

The Forty-Eighth Meeting of the Committee will take place in Baku on 26-27 April 2017. The main item on the Agenda will be “The Role of the Parliaments in Providing Sustainable Healthcare Systems in the BSEC Member States”.
